Lightdrops - clanginstallation
Kunstflecken Festival 2011
The fife tabs become light sources. They light up alternately and synchroniously to the clang of watherdrops and create a rhythmic clang/light composition.
Comparision as a literary figure is raised to a visual layer. The language gets an extension. As static expressions, such as water flows or light shines, are deconstructed and resorted, thus creates a new freedom in language use.
Loitz'er Youths - videoinstallation
Loitzer Peeneaale 2008
Janneke Hambücher, Yasmin Schaffer
Interview with some teenagers living in the village Loitz. It is projected in an old cattle shed of an abandoned gun club house. On the ceiling you can see photographs the teenager took with single-use cameras given to them with the mission to document their everyday lifes.
The room has been secretly used by the teenagers to meet and celebrate parties until they were banished by the township.
The presentation of the videoinstallation had to be abandoned on pain of panalties.
Lichter - Installation 2008
A room without windows, 60ies-flower-wallpaper primed with fluorescent colour, a lamp up side down in the centre of the room and a fluorescent hummingbird flying above it.
1.situation: The lamp is shining, the room is lighted, the hummingbird is spotlighted.
2.situation: The light goes off, after-image of the lamp, fluorescent hummingbird, surrounding absolutely dark, reference to the space gets lost, the localization of the walls is not seizable anymore, they get transparent and the room is opening up. Slovely the floral pattern of the wallpaper begins to glow. After a while the viewer is surrounded by lights.

Memory chamber / thinking out of the box -
installation 2008What is memory? A man in a small chamber underneath the stairs is autistically giving hisself up to arbitrary doings. Threw a spyhole the spectator is able to observe him. Over headphones you hear a self-talk about memory and the declaiming of quotations wich had been recorded in the chamber before. The doubling, overlaying and repeating of the monologe snatches evokes the impression that one can listen to the thoughts of another person. The visitors were also invited to go into the chamber and think and ruminate a while and listen to there own memory voice.
„Language is nothing but memory, because it can be nothing else.“ Fritz Mauthner
Der Schalter - Installation 2007
A oversize dip-switch beside the door activates tree paralleled tiny lamps. Through a wire they project a small shadow drawing of a abandoned house with the numbre 29 on a notepad.
